A Prayer for The Quiet Work

Lord,

I am learning that silence is not absence,

and waiting is not abandonment.

Teach me to trust the work You do

when there are no words to lean on

and no answers to hold.

Guard my heart from bitterness

and my mouth from striving.

Where I am tempted to fill the quiet,

help me to remain.

I place what I cannot carry into Your hands,

and I release the need to see the outcome.

Do the work I cannot do,

in ways I may never witness,

for Your purposes are not rushed

and Your faithfulness does not require proof.

Amen.
